The west end of Kathleen Street in the Donovan has several very interesting local businesses. There are only a couple of franchise businesses on that street. That is what makes the People’s Republic of the Donovan so special.
Sweet Nothings is a bakery. When I first drove by it, I thought that it was an adult entertainment boutique. My mistake.
I received warm greetings during my visit.
All products at Sweet Nothings are made locally.
The bakery is well decorated. The store is painted pink on both the outside and inside.
They sell preserves as well as baked goods.
This would make a great birthday cake.
They also have pies. Lemon meringue was on special the day I visited.
They have a large selection of pastries.
Sweet Nothings also has some antiques on display.
Here is an old pair of TV rabbit ears, a baby bottle heater and a radio.
Sorry; these prices belong to a much older generation.
