The James Jerome Sports Complex Park is located at the north-west corner of Paris Street and Centental Drive.
Now that the weather is improving, I decided to visit take a walk on the Lily Creek Boardwalk that is part of this park.
The red line on this map shows the boardwalk.
The park is easy to get to by car or by bus. There is a large parking lot and the large sports complex has a large football field, soccer fields, tennis courts and a children’s playground. It also has washrooms and a refreshment booth. (Both were closed during my visit.)
The sports centre is just across the street from Science North.
Being so close to Bell Park, Science North and an Imax theatre, a family could spend a day in this area.
The children’s playground.
Houses sit above Lily Creek giving them great views of the creek and Ramsey lake.
The wide boardwalk has benches and garbage containers.
It is still too early to see much life in the water.
A view of Lily Creek. There are a large number of birdhouses along the creek.
I saw a red wing blackbird.
And a pair of ducks.
I am sure I will be able to take some good photographs while strolling the boardwalk later on this year.
The Lily Creek Boardwalk is one of many of the Rainbow Routes Association trails in Greater Sudbury. If you click on their link, you will find maps and a description of all of their trails.
