I live in Kingsmount-Bell Park.
It is a residential area bordered on the north by the CP Rail marshalling yard and downtown Sudbury and on the south by Lily Creek and Science North. To the west is Regent Street and to the east is Ramsey Lake.
The CP Rail marshalling yard.
The Roxborough Greenbelt is to the northwest.
On the southeast side, we have Lily Creek and the James Jerome Sports Complex Park.
Within its three square kilometres, Kingsmount-Bell Park has 2,254 households. They live in detached houses, duplexes and in low-rise apartment buildings.
The centre of Kingsmount-Bell Park is a long, tall rocky hill surrounded on all sides by low lands.
Many of the houses have been built on the rocky slopes.
Kingsmount-Bell Park has children’s playgrounds, parkettes and the wonderful Bell Park on the shores of Lake Ramsey.
It is a neighbourhood with fully mature trees.
I can smell the lilacs from a quarter-block away.
The residential buildings are interesting as no two houses look exactly the same. This is unlike most residential areas in the GTA where I use to live.
Some houses sit on extra-wide lots.
The older low-rise apartment buildings fit in so well with the detached houses. They too are unique; all of them look different.
These newer tall apartment buildings are to the south of us in the South End.
