Strawberry picking in Greater Sudbury

We picked three baskets of strawberries & then we enjoyed fish & chips.

In what is becoming an annual event, Colleen and I went strawberry picking in Chelmsford. Last year we visited Lise's Strawberry Farm.

This year we went to Ruby Berry Farm. They have been in business for 26 years and they welcome families with children.

You can pick your own or buy pre-picked berries.

This is a large farm that has several fields. Be prepared to walk out to where the berries are ready for picking.

The parking lot was full but there was plenty of room in the fields for everyone.

Here are our three baskets of fresh strawberries.

We wash them ahead of freezing them. Sudbury strawberries with ice cream will be a treat whenever we have company come up from Toronto.

Lunch

Before we head back home, we stopped at Chemmy’s Fish & Chips for lunch.

We like their pickerel fish and chips. When we have friends come up to visit, we hope to bring them here for a meal.
