Myths and Mirrors Community Arts is a non-profit organization based in Sudbury, Ontario. Since 1996, they have been based in two of Sudbury’s oldest neighbourhoods, the Flour Mill and the Donovan.
Last week, they hosted a weekend art fair on Kathleen Street, the heart of the Donovan. Saturday was the last day. Unfortunately, I arrived after 3:00 pm just after the events closed.
There was an area setup for children to draw and to hear stories.
I saw these posters by Beard's Coffee Bar And Bakery.
Bessle Avenue, beside the Frood Hotel, was closed so children and adults could draw large caulk artworks on the road.
Someone drew: “In the Mood for the Frood”.
One organizer brought very large cardboard boxes for the children. They made buildings using cardboard and coloured duct tape.
This building had a weather vane attached to the roof.
It was a very warm day. People were lined up to purchase a treat at Flurples.
I will have to arrive earlier next year.
