Each autumn, we take a scenic drive to Levack, the most northwest community in Greater Sudbury.
The scenery we see during this drive is so beautiful.
As we turn onto Municipal Road #8, the only road that leads into Levack, I am impressed by the height of the tree-covered rocky hills that tower over us.
Levack is a mining community.
The village has a two-block-long commercial strip on Levack Drive.
This is the Northwest Fudge Company. They decorate their building to celebrate our different holidays.
The village has a branch of the Sudbury Credit Union.
It also has a post office.
The Levack Mini-Mart also goes all out to celebrate the holidays.
The Ice Box, an ice cream parlor, is open in the warmer months. Since it is closed in the fall, for the drive back home, Colleen and I enjoy an ice cream that we buy from the mini-mart.
This is one of the Home Hardware locations in Greater Sudbury.
A Bang 4 Your Buck store is a large dollar store.
Every community of any size in Ontario has a Chinese-Canadian restaurant and Levack is no exception as it has the Blue Bird Restaurant & Tavern.
The building on the right is for sale.
The old Municipal Building is now an office for a mining company.
Levack has low-rise rental apartment buildings and affordable detached houses.
This community has the I. J. Coady Memorial Arena.
Levack has a small parkette in the centre of town. A war memorial in this parkette honours the men of Onaping Falls who gave their lives serving their country.
